INTERNAL MANAGEMENT MEMORANDUM NUMBER:   6C1-6.01-1 (Revised)

SUBJECT:   IFAS; Mission and Organization

  1. The mission of IFAS is set forth in 6C1-6.01, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), with its basic general authority provided in Chapter 1004, Florida Statutes, Sections 1004.22, 1004.31, 1004.37, 1004.49, 1011.49, 1011.50 and 1012.96 and Chapters 79-222, 90-148, and 99-47 Laws of Florida. In addition, numerous Federal laws provide specific authority for specific programs.

  2. The attached Chart 1 entitled, "Programmatic Organization of IFAS," shows the overall
    programmatic organization of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). Chart 2 shows the administrative organization of the Office of the Vice President for Agriculture and Natural Resources. Reflected in Charts 3, 4, and 5 is the organization of the academic programs, research, and extension functions of IFAS. Chart 6 reflects the organization of the College of Veterinary Medicine. Chart 7 reflects the organization of the School of Natural Resources and Environment.
